The High Level Conference “Combating Tobacco Industry Tactics: State of Play and a Way Forward” aims to highlight the challenges in the implementation of the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control (FCTC) and specifically its Article 5.3 which asks governments to protect public health from the interference of the tobacco industry. The event will seek to keep tobacco industry tactics at the forefront of the tobacco control policy debate and will draw on the experience of high-level participants in guiding governments across the EU and globally on how to manage and regulate interactions with the industry. The conference will bring together an audience made of EU, international and national policy makers, civil society organisations, and the media in order to address the challenges posed by tobacco industry interference to health policy making.
